Who you are

You have at least 4 years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on blockchain technology. Your background includes at least 3 years of experience writing smart contracts in Solidity, showcasing your ability to develop secure and efficient blockchain applications. You have prior experience in blockchain engineering, particularly in Layer-1, Layer-2, or Infrastructure projects, which equips you with a deep understanding of the ecosystem. Your expertise extends to tools like Foundry and Hardhat, and you are well-versed in security practices essential for smart contract development. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with both internal teams and external partners to drive innovation in decentralized technology.

Desirable

Experience with high-performance applications and a solid grasp of the developer ecosystem will set you apart. Familiarity with various blockchain protocols and a passion for exploring new primitives in decentralized technology will enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

As a Smart Contract Engineer at Category Labs, you will implement smart contracts that leverage the resources and throughput enabled by the Monad client. Your role involves identifying needs within the app developer ecosystem and addressing them through close collaboration with the core engineering team. You will work directly with external application or infrastructure teams, utilizing your deep understanding of their domains and the Category Labs client to unblock challenges they face. Your contributions will be pivotal in designing and building step-function improvements over existing blockchain solutions, ensuring that the applications you develop are robust and scalable. You will also engage in discussions about new primitives and enhancements, contributing to the overall vision of decentralized technology at Category Labs.
