Who you are

You have extensive experience in data management and AI, with a strong focus on leading teams and implementing best practices in data engineering. Your hands-on approach allows you to translate business needs into reusable architectures and capabilities, ensuring that data is treated as a product. You are well-versed in modern data governance practices, including Policy-as-Code and Data Quality assurance, and you understand the importance of metrics and observability in data ecosystems.

You possess a deep understanding of data pipelines, both batch and streaming, and have successfully designed and implemented complex ETL/ELT processes. Your proficiency in Python and PySpark enables you to develop robust data transformations, and you are familiar with automated testing frameworks like PyTest to ensure code quality. You are also knowledgeable about GenAI applications in data, leveraging tools like Vertex AI to enhance data discovery and compliance.

Your experience includes working with large organizations to implement Data Mesh strategies and you are comfortable navigating the challenges of data as a product. You have a proven track record of promoting a culture of data ownership and accountability within your teams, ensuring that service level objectives (SLOs) and service level indicators (SLIs) are met consistently.

Desirable

Experience with semantic layers and metrics, particularly with tools like Looker and dbt, is a plus. Familiarity with data governance tools such as OPA and Ranger will enhance your ability to lead effectively in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the CI&T data team, fostering a culture of excellence in data engineering and governance. You will be responsible for designing and implementing modern data architectures that support product-oriented data ecosystems. Your leadership will guide the team in adopting best practices for data quality, ensuring that all datasets meet high standards of accuracy and reliability.

You will work closely with both mid and senior management to translate business requirements into actionable data strategies. This includes developing complex data pipelines that automate and optimize ETL/ELT processes, ensuring that data flows seamlessly across the organization. You will also oversee the integration of GenAI technologies to accelerate data discovery and enhance compliance measures.

Your role will involve mentoring team members, promoting best practices in engineering, and driving the adoption of a data-as-a-product mindset. You will design blueprints for data platforms that prioritize metadata management, lineage tracking, and observability, ensuring that the data ecosystem is robust and scalable.
