Frontend Engineer - Search & Computer Vision

Who you are

You have a BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, and you've gained valuable skills through internships where you developed and launched products. You are comfortable leading projects from design to implementation, ensuring that the front end of applications is both functional and visually appealing.

Your experience includes building reusable components and utilizing CSS pre-processors to create pixel-perfect user interfaces. You thrive in an agile team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver products on time.

You possess a proficient understanding of JavaScript, including its contexts, prototypes, classes, and closures. This knowledge allows you to write clean, efficient code that enhances user experience. Familiarity with modern web frameworks such as Angular.js, React, or Vue is essential for this role.

Additionally, you have experience working with REST APIs and can read Python server code, which will help you integrate front-end components with back-end services effectively. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies as needed.

Desirable

Experience with computer vision data processing and optimizing encoding/decoding functionality for high-resolution video would be a plus. If you have a passion for visual search technologies, that will further enhance your fit for this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will build the front end for Verkada's visual search experience, enabling the web UI to process computer vision data seamlessly. You will lead projects from design to implementation, ensuring that the user interface is intuitive and responsive.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to continuously deliver Verkada’s products to customers on time. Your responsibilities will include optimizing the encoding and decoding functionality for 4K video, which is crucial for maintaining high-quality user experiences.

You will also be involved in code reviews and contribute to the overall improvement of the development process. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members will be essential as you collaborate on various projects.
