Carta is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for their Limited Partner Portfolio Analytics team. You'll work with Java and Python to develop software solutions for private market infrastructure. This role requires significant experience in software development.
You have 5+ years of experience in software development, particularly in building scalable applications that meet the needs of users in the private equity and venture capital sectors. Your expertise in Java and Python allows you to create robust software solutions that enhance the strategic impact of fund CFOs. You understand the complexities of financial software and are adept at translating business requirements into technical specifications. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. You are detail-oriented and have a strong commitment to writing clean, maintainable code. You are also familiar with the challenges of integrating various software systems and have experience in optimizing performance for large datasets.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure would be a plus, as would familiarity with data analytics tools. You have a keen interest in the private markets and understand the unique challenges they face. You are proactive in seeking out new technologies and methodologies to improve your work and the products you develop.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Carta's Fund Administration platform, which supports thousands of funds and SPVs. You will collaborate with product managers and other engineers to design and implement features that enhance user experience and operational efficiency. Your work will involve writing high-quality code, conducting code reviews, and participating in architectural discussions to ensure the scalability and reliability of the platform. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in production, ensuring that the platform remains stable and performant.
You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their careers. You will contribute to the overall engineering culture at Carta, promoting best practices and encouraging innovation within the team.
