Job Description

Amazon's Transportation Operations Management (TOM) Product and Services team is driving change in the Middle Mile. The TOM team is looking for a Manager, Product Manager-Tech to help drive product lifecycle management, tech implementation and measurement. In this role, you would be responsible for leading a team of Product Managers as they ideate, build, coordinate across the organization to successfully build, and integrate and launch new tech innovations and operational processes to be used in TOM’s Transportation, Yard, and Gate operations. This role will be responsible for leading a team, supporting existing legacy hardware functionality while crafting product requirements for new devices. This encompasses identifying distinct stages of hardware life cycle, scoping deliverables for each phase gate, and defining stakeholders and their roles and responsibilities. The role will entail the creation of technical device mechanisms, intake, prioritization, tracking, and building out associated data visualization.

The Manager, Product Manager-Tech will be responsible for scoping and delivering end-to-end large-scale projects across TOM. This includes collection of business and systems requirements, writing and implementing technical specifications, and driving product delivery schedules. You will lead and coordinate efforts between teams to develop optimal solutions, make appropriate tradeoffs, and communicate goals to cross-functional project teams.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team or Product and Program Managers, hiring and developing
- Create, visualize, and build TOM Yard of the Future product Suite
- Develop and drive alignment on key technical product innovations within the TOM yard management and operations space
- Work with technology teams to translate requirements into specifications
- Build BRDs, balancing business needs with stakeholder input and resource availability
- Drive project execution, make technical tradeoffs, track and report on status, and resolve blockers
- Lead business reviews, working with stakeholders to create comprehensive and pertinent documents


About the team
The TOM Product, Data and PMO team identifies, builds and implements increasingly complex, cross-functional, and impactful products in Amazon's Middle Mile. We own these products and programs from end to end, anticipating bottlenecks, resolving blockers, managing escalations, and balancing business needs versus technical constraints. - 3+ years of team management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product- Experience in software development
- Experience building and operating Internet scale products, services and platforms

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $149,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $258,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
