You have a strong background in environmental health and safety, with experience in both environmental and occupational safety fields. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are hands-on, ready to tackle challenges in a fast-paced setting. Your ability to work well within a team is essential, as you will be part of a small group of technicians and engineers dedicated to ensuring safety at SpaceX.

You are knowledgeable about compliance with regulations and guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH. Your expertise allows you to conduct thorough job hazard assessments and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures. You are proactive in monitoring employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards, ensuring a safe working environment for all.

Your skills include the ability to develop recommendations for remedial actions when safety policies are not adhered to by employees. You are detail-oriented and capable of inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards. Your commitment to maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations is unwavering, and you take pride in completing and maintaining documented safety observations from regular hazard identification audits.

Desirable

Experience with safety management systems and a strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies would be beneficial. Familiarity with safety training programs and the ability to communicate safety protocols effectively to team members is also a plus.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations. You will collaborate closely with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures. Your role will involve monitoring employee exposure to various hazards and ensuring that all safety measures are effectively communicated and enforced.

You will conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment, identifying potential hazards and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Your recommendations for remedial actions will be crucial in maintaining a safe working environment. You will also be responsible for documenting safety observations and conducting regular hazard identification audits to ensure ongoing compliance.

Your contributions will directly impact the overall success of SpaceX's safety programs, and you will work as part of a highly integrated team to achieve this goal. You will assist in the implementation of safety programs at the Rocket Development & Test Site, ensuring that all team members are aware of and adhere to safety protocols.
