Overview

Carta is seeking a Senior Associate in Tax Delivery to join their Tax team as a US Federal tax preparer and reviewer. You'll leverage Carta’s proprietary tax engine to file tax returns for clients in the venture capital and private equity sectors.

Who you are

You have a strong background in tax preparation and compliance, particularly in the context of US Federal tax regulations. Your experience includes working with venture capitalists and fund managers, allowing you to understand the unique challenges they face in tax delivery. You are detail-oriented and possess excellent analytical skills, enabling you to review and prepare tax returns accurately and efficiently. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute to a team that supports high-profile clients in the private capital markets.

Desirable

Experience with tax software and engines, particularly those tailored for private equity and venture capital, is a plus. Familiarity with fund administration and the intricacies of tax compliance in this sector will set you apart. You are proactive in your approach to problem-solving and are always looking for ways to improve processes and enhance client satisfaction.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing US Federal tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, including venture capital firms and private equity funds. You will leverage Carta’s proprietary tax engine to streamline the filing process, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Your work will involve collaborating closely with clients to gather necessary documentation and provide insights into their tax obligations. You will also participate in team meetings to discuss strategies for improving tax delivery services and enhancing client relationships.

You will stay updated on changes in tax legislation that may impact your clients and provide guidance on best practices for tax compliance. Your role will require you to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively to clients who may not have a tax background. You will also assist in training and mentoring junior team members, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team.
