Amazon is hiring an Industrial Engineer for their Factory Planning team within the GSE Engineering group. You'll develop facility layouts and production plans for satellite manufacturing, requiring skills in CAD modeling and project management.
You have a background in industrial engineering with experience in factory planning and production processes — you understand how to optimize layouts and workflows to enhance efficiency. You are skilled in using CAD software to create detailed models and plans that guide construction and operational processes. Your ability to collaborate with diverse teams, including contractors and engineers, allows you to drive projects forward effectively. You are detail-oriented and can manage multiple priorities while ensuring that production goals are met within constraints. You have a strong understanding of utility budgets and equipment requirements, which helps you develop comprehensive plans for facility operations. You are a proactive problem solver who can identify potential issues and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-level CAD models that represent the layout and function of the satellite production facility. You will create rate calculators and equipment lists that are essential for production flow, ensuring that all aspects of the facility are accounted for. You will collaborate with various teams to drive a unified production vision across different product lines, working closely with area leaders to deliver plans for factory cell layouts. Your role will involve coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure that facilities are rate capable and meet established timelines. You will also be tasked with maintaining utility budgets for essential services such as LN2, GN2, and compressed air, ensuring that all operational needs are met efficiently. Your contributions will be critical in achieving the mission success of Amazon Leo's satellite production goals.
