Overview

SpaceX is hiring an NDE Engineer to develop and support advanced nondestructive evaluation inspection solutions. You'll interface with multiple business groups to enhance manufacturing process improvements. This role requires expertise in inspection methodologies and data analysis.

Who you are

You have a strong background in nondestructive evaluation (NDE) engineering, with experience in developing and implementing inspection solutions that enhance manufacturing quality. Your ability to interface across various business groups allows you to align inspection requirements with engineering capabilities effectively. You are skilled in designing and prototyping nondestructive sensor systems, and you understand the importance of ensuring flight reliability through rigorous inspection processes.

You possess a solid understanding of advanced data analysis techniques, which you apply to deliver manufacturing process improvements. Your experience includes working with vendors and tooling groups to define project requirements and manage initiatives from conception to delivery. You are proactive in supporting automation initiatives and improving the probability of detection while reducing cycle times and defects.

What you'll do

In this role, you will develop and deliver advanced nondestructive evaluation inspection solutions that are critical to ensuring the quality and reliability of SpaceX's vehicles. You will design, prototype, and implement nondestructive sensor systems aimed at solving complex manufacturing quality problems. Your responsibilities will include interfacing with vehicle engineering teams across all programs to align on inspection requirements and capabilities, ensuring that parts are designed for inspectability.

You will also be involved in the early stages of inspection development, conducting bench-top validations to mitigate risks associated with new technologies. Collaborating with vendors and automation groups, you will define requirements and manage projects to successful completion. Your work will support key targets such as increasing the probability of detection, reducing cycle times, and enhancing the overall quality of manufacturing processes.
