Enviva is seeking a Crane Operator to unload logs from delivery trucks and manage log processing. This role requires a complete understanding of log loading and handling equipment.
You have a complete understanding of log loading and handling equipment, including but not limited to cranes, log loaders, and forklifts. You are detail-oriented and can inspect and adjust crane mechanisms to prevent malfunctions. You are comfortable operating heavy machinery and have experience in a similar role. You understand the importance of adhering to safety guidelines and environmental policies in a manufacturing setting.
You are a team player who can maintain communication with the Area Mill Manager and coworkers to ensure smooth operations. You are proactive in identifying and addressing issues that may arise during the log processing. You take pride in maintaining a clean and organized work area, contributing to the overall efficiency of the team.
As a Crane Operator at Enviva, you will be responsible for unloading logs from delivery trucks and storing them in designated areas. You will operate the portal crane to load and unload bundles, ensuring that all logs are handled safely and efficiently. You will monitor logs being fed into the debarker drum and notify the chipper operator of any problems, such as jams or hung-up logs. You will also escalate visual issues and remove any debris that could damage the equipment.
In addition to operating the crane, you will lubricate crane parts according to manufacturer recommendations and perform general housekeeping tasks during downtime. This includes shoveling, sweeping, and hosing down the work area to maintain cleanliness and safety. You will adhere to all plant environmental, health, and safety guidelines, ensuring that you contribute to a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
