Microsoft is hiring a Software Engineer II for their Hardware Security team to develop secure systems that protect users. You'll work with low-level technologies and foundational security platforms like TPM and Pluton. This role requires expertise in C, C++, and Windows.

We are the Hardware Security team in the Windows and Devices group, and we are looking for a Software Engineer II to help us transform and evolve hardware security in all Microsoft products and services. Our code powers billions of devices worldwide and is a constant target of ever more sophisticated cyber criminals. We own some of the most important foundational technologies in Azure, Windows, and Xbox that leverage hardware to help protect our customers’ data and devices. Our goal is to ensure our devices are among the most secure in the industry, hardware-backed guarantees and enforcements that are malware resistant. Our team owns many foundational technologies and platforms such as TPM (Trusted Platform Module), Pluton security processor, and the Xbox hardware security architecture that our customers rely on for securing their devices.
In this Software Engineer II role, you will be joining a team of technical engineers in hardware/firmware/software security. You will be responsible for building technologies and platforms that leverage the latest advancements in security and incorporate mitigations based on advanced attacks. You will influence our product technology roadmap aligning to our business goals. Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
