Datadog is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Windows OS and internals to develop a zero-instrumentation observability solution. You'll work closely with low-level user and kernel APIs, requiring strong skills in C/C++ and a solid understanding of networking protocols.
You have a strong background in systems-level thinking and a deep familiarity with Windows, ideally with experience in kernel development or a strong desire to learn. Proficiency in C/C++ is essential, and experience with Go is a plus. You possess a solid understanding of networking protocols and TLS internals, which is highly valuable for this role. You thrive on tackling complex challenges and enjoy working close to the kernel, focusing on performance-sensitive problems.
As a Senior Software Engineer at Datadog, you will join the USM team to develop a zero-instrumentation observability solution that automatically discovers services running on each host. You will leverage low-level user and kernel APIs to capture comprehensive signals from the system, ensuring robust performance in production environments. Your responsibilities will include leading design and implementation efforts, contributing to roadmap planning, and collaborating across teams to maintain a robust and scalable solution. You will tackle ambitious technical challenges, such as decoding traffic across multiple protocols and ensuring high-fidelity metrics in complex, real-world environments.
At Datadog, you will be part of a high-impact team that values innovation and collaboration. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe diverse teams build better products. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of observability through cutting-edge kernel technology, working in an environment that fosters growth and development.
