Who you are

You have over 5 years of backend engineering experience, with a strong focus on building production systems that scale effectively. You’ve owned services from design through deployment, and you have valuable insights from debugging complex distributed systems issues. Your expertise in Java is complemented by a deep understanding of distributed systems, allowing you to tackle challenges that arise in high-scale environments.

As a leader, you have at least 2 years of experience guiding an engineering team, successfully driving technical standards and mentoring engineers to accelerate their professional growth. You thrive in a collaborative environment, fostering ownership and technical excellence within your team. Your experience in a multi-tenant SaaS environment has equipped you with the skills to deliver mission-critical systems that ensure performance and reliability.

You are passionate about best practices in software development, particularly in agile methodologies. Your familiarity with Scrum enhances your ability to lead teams effectively, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and meet high-quality standards. You understand the importance of observability and orchestration in distributed systems, and you advocate for these practices within your team.

You are a strong communicator, capable of bridging technical execution with business impact. What you'll do

In this role, you will lead and mentor a compact team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and collaborative growth. You will take full ownership of key platform components, making critical roadmap decisions and ensuring production reliability. Your leadership will champion best practices in distributed systems, observability, and agile delivery, helping your team to excel in their roles.

You will bridge the gap between technical execution and business impact, collaborating with other departments to address scalability challenges and enhance the user experience.
