Overview

Microsoft is hiring a Critical Environment Technician to maintain the critical infrastructure of their datacenters. You'll be involved in monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting within the Cloud Operations & Innovation team. This role is suitable for entry-level candidates looking to start their career in a technical environment.

Who you are

As a Critical Environment Technician, you are eager to learn and grow in a technical role within a leading technology company. You have a basic understanding of infrastructure maintenance and are committed to enforcing safety and security requirements. You are detail-oriented and capable of performing inspections and monitoring tasks effectively. You are open to participating in troubleshooting equipment issues and developing methods of operating procedures (MOPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs). You are enthusiastic about contributing to a team that supports critical cloud services and infrastructure.

Desirable

While not required, any prior experience or education related to technical operations or infrastructure maintenance would be beneficial. A willingness to learn about cloud services and datacenter operations will set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will help maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps Microsoft’s datacenters operational. Your responsibilities will include performing basic monitoring and inspection of equipment, ensuring that all safety and security protocols are followed. You will participate in various types of maintenance tasks and assist in troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise. You will also contribute to the development of methods of operating procedures (MOPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance operational efficiency. Your work will directly support the infrastructure that powers Microsoft’s cloud services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.
