Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Build Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability of flight components and production assemblies. You'll collaborate across teams and utilize your expertise in fabrication methods and data-driven decision-making. This role requires hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering with a focus on reliability, having worked on hardware ownership and production processes. Your experience spans various fabrication methods and inspection procedures, allowing you to ensure the highest quality in flight components. You thrive in hands-on environments, spending time on the factory floor and in labs to execute your mission. You are data-driven, capable of defining what data needs to be collected to inform future decisions, and you have a knack for deep diving into problems to understand root causes and implement corrective actions. You are a collaborative team player, working closely with other core groups to guide hardware from design to production and operation.

Desirable

Experience with continuous production improvement processes is a plus, as is familiarity with tooling design and data visualization techniques. You are comfortable building new processes from the ground up and have a proven track record of improving existing execution.

What you'll do

As a Build Reliability Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of flight components and production assemblies. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to guide hardware from design through production and operation. Your role will involve employing reliability techniques to stretch your expertise in fabrication methods, work instructions, and inspection procedures. You will be tasked with building new processes and improving existing ones, driving continuous production improvement. You will also be responsible for assessing build-induced vehicle risk and making data-driven decisions to inform future actions. When issues arise, you will deep dive into problems to understand their root causes and implement robust corrective actions. Your hands-on approach will see you working in the office, on the factory floor, and in the lab, contributing to SpaceX's mission of making humanity interplanetary.

What we offer

At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven organization focused on pushing the boundaries of technology and exploration. You will work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry, contributing to groundbreaking projects that aim to enable human life on Mars. We offer a collaborative and inclusive work environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on the future of space exploration. Join us in our quest to make the impossible possible.
