Snowflake is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Data Governance team to design and build data governance features. You'll work with Java and SQL to solve real business needs at scale. This role requires 7+ years of software engineering experience.
You have over 7 years of hands-on software engineering experience, demonstrating a strong ability to tackle complex problems and deliver high-quality solutions. Your fluency in Java is complemented by a solid understanding of database fundamentals, particularly SQL, which you have utilized in various projects to manage and manipulate data effectively. You possess systems programming skills, including multi-threading and concurrency, which enable you to design efficient and scalable systems. While experience in database security or building data governance systems is a bonus, your primary focus has been on creating robust software solutions that meet user needs.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to drive projects from conception to implementation. Your analytical problem-solving skills allow you to make informed trade-offs in system design, ensuring that the solutions you develop align with customer requirements and business objectives. You are passionate about leveraging technology to empower users and improve data governance practices.
A Master's or PhD in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, as it demonstrates your commitment to deepening your technical expertise. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance your skills and contribute to your team's success.
As a Senior Software Engineer in Data Governance at Snowflake, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building features that enhance data governance capabilities for our customers. You will collaborate with Product Managers to translate business needs into technical solutions, ensuring that the features you develop are user-friendly and effective. Your work will involve solving real business challenges at scale, applying your software engineering skills to create systems that are both efficient and secure.
You will be responsible for making critical design decisions that impact the overall architecture of our data governance systems.
