Overview

Waymo is seeking a Technical Lead Manager for Trip Planning to oversee the development of autonomous driving technology. You'll work with Java, Python, and various cloud technologies to enhance ride-hailing and fleet management systems. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise in software engineering.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering with at least 5 years of experience in leading technical teams. Your expertise spans multiple programming languages, including Java and Python, and you have a solid understanding of C++. You are familiar with cloud technologies, particularly Google Cloud Platform, and have experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Your leadership style encourages collaboration and innovation, and you thrive in environments where you can mentor and guide your team.

You possess a deep understanding of machine learning principles and their application in autonomous driving technology. Your experience with frontend technologies, such as Angular and TypeScript, allows you to bridge the gap between backend and frontend development effectively. You are comfortable working with complex systems and have a knack for solving intricate technical challenges.

Desirable

Experience with Dart and familiarity with operations tooling or developer productivity tools would be a plus. You have a keen interest in the latest advancements in autonomous driving and are eager to contribute to the future of transportation.

What you'll do

As the Technical Lead Manager for Trip Planning at Waymo, you will oversee the development of systems that enhance our ride-hailing and fleet management capabilities. You will lead a team of engineers, guiding them through the design and implementation of software solutions that power our autonomous driving technology. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including hardware and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components.
