Who you are

You have extensive experience in product design, ideally with a focus on platform experiences that enhance user workflows. Your background includes deep collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring that design decisions resonate throughout the product lifecycle. You are proficient in design tools such as Figma and have a strong understanding of user-centered design principles. You thrive in environments that embrace AI and innovation, and you are eager to incorporate these elements into your design processes. You understand the importance of accessibility and inclusivity in design, ensuring that all users can benefit from the products you create. You are a strong communicator, able to articulate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders at all levels.

Desirable

Experience with AI-driven design processes or familiarity with DevSecOps platforms would be a plus. A portfolio showcasing your design work and the impact it has had on user experience will strengthen your application. Familiarity with agile methodologies and design sprints is also beneficial.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design efforts for GitLab's platform experiences, focusing on elements that enhance user workflows across various stages of the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure that design decisions are informed by user needs and technical feasibility. Your responsibilities will include conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and iterating on designs based on feedback. You will also be involved in defining design standards and guidelines that promote consistency across the platform. As a Staff Product Designer, you will mentor junior designers and contribute to the overall design culture at GitLab, fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration.
