Amazon is hiring an Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical technology infrastructure in Avondale, Arizona. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure high uptime for AWS data centers.

Who you are

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, ready to take on the challenge of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure. Your hands-on experience with troubleshooting and operating complex systems makes you an ideal candidate for this role. You understand the importance of uptime and are committed to ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which allows you to identify and address issues before they escalate. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to work alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists.

Desirable

Experience with data center operations or similar environments is a plus, as is familiarity with diesel generators and three-phase electrical systems. You are comfortable working with various equipment, including switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and cooling systems. A background in AWS infrastructure services would also be beneficial, as it aligns with the mission of keeping the cloud running effectively.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical and mechanical systems that support AWS data centers. You will operate and monitor critical equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the high uptime standards that AWS is known for. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Your role will involve hands-on work with generators, electrical systems, and cooling equipment, requiring both technical knowledge and practical skills.

You will also participate in regular maintenance schedules and emergency response protocols, ensuring that you are prepared for any situation that may arise.
