Confluent is hiring a FedRAMP Site Reliability Engineer to deliver highly performant, reliable systems for public sector agencies. You'll work with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes to ensure compliance and operational excellence. This role requires a strong understanding of federal compliance standards.
You have a solid background in site reliability engineering, with experience in maintaining high operational standards for cloud systems. You understand the complexities of federal compliance, particularly in the context of FedRAMP, and are eager to contribute to the public sector's data-driven initiatives. Your technical expertise includes working with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, and you are comfortable navigating the challenges of deploying production systems in a regulated environment. You thrive in collaborative settings, valuing honest feedback and diverse perspectives as you work towards common goals. You are proactive in identifying potential issues and implementing solutions that enhance system reliability and performance.
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools, as well as a strong understanding of CI/CD practices, will set you apart. Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments is also a plus, as is any previous experience working with government agencies or in compliance-heavy industries.
In this role, you will own the operational health of Confluent Cloud systems utilized by federal agencies. You will be responsible for deploying and managing production environments, ensuring they meet the stringent requirements of FedRAMP compliance. Your day-to-day tasks will involve monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance reliability. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to design and implement infrastructure as code, leveraging tools like Docker and Kubernetes to streamline deployments. Additionally, you will participate in incident response efforts, helping to resolve outages and minimize downtime for critical services.
You will also engage in continuous learning about the evolving FedRAMP landscape, adapting your strategies to maintain compliance with the latest standards. Your contributions will directly impact how public sector agencies leverage data in real-time, enabling them to make informed decisions quickly. You will champion best practices in operational excellence, fostering a culture of reliability and accountability within the team.
