Garda Capital Partners is seeking a Repo Trader to focus on bond financing transactions across the Asia Pacific portfolio. You'll work closely with Portfolio Managers and counterparties to execute repo transactions and maintain high-quality repo execution. This role requires a background in finance or related fields.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field, or possess equivalent industry experience. You are detail-oriented and possess strong verbal and written communication skills, which enable you to develop strong relationships with Portfolio Managers and counterparties. You are a high-performing individual who is self-motivated, demonstrating a high level of initiative and innovative thinking. You thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive team environment and have a solid understanding of repo trading and treasury operations.
You have 2+ years of experience with repo trading, trade settlement, or middle office operations. Proficiency in the Japanese language is a plus, enhancing your ability to communicate effectively in the APAC region.
In this role, you will execute repo transactions to ensure the portfolio is funded in alignment with Garda's liquidity, counterparty diversification, and duration risk tolerances. You will maintain high-quality repo execution, focusing on both the economics of transactions and the relationships with counterparties. Your feedback will be crucial in ensuring that the repo funding profile of the firm remains reasonable and prudent. You will also contribute to the development of reporting and trading tools aimed at improving overall execution. Additionally, you will play a key role in providing commentary and analytics for the APAC funding team, helping to shape strategic decisions.
