Amazon is hiring an Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical technology infrastructure in Mississippi. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure high uptime for AWS data centers.
You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting equipment and maintaining critical infrastructure, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your technical skills allow you to work effectively with various systems, including diesel generators, UPSs, and three-phase electrical systems. You understand the importance of uptime in a data center environment and are committed to maintaining high standards of operational excellence. Experience with AWS infrastructure or similar cloud services is a plus. Familiarity with data center operations and maintenance practices will help you excel in this role. As an Engineering Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring that our mission-critical facilities operate at peak performance. Your day-to-day tasks will include conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to equipment failures. You will work closely with a diverse team of engineers to support the operation of AWS data centers, contributing to our goal of achieving 99.999% uptime.
You will also assist in the operation of stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, ensuring that backup power is always available. Your expertise will extend to managing three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, PDUs, and wet cell batteries. You will be involved in maintaining cooling systems, such as centrifugal chillers and air handlers, which are critical for the efficient operation of our facilities.
