Overview

Esri is hiring a Data Scientist - GeoAI to develop AI and deep learning models for geospatial analysis. You'll work with Python and PyTorch to create tools and APIs that leverage GIS data. This role requires experience in data science and a passion for geospatial datasets.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in data science, particularly in applying machine learning and deep learning techniques to solve complex problems. Your experience includes developing models for various data modalities, especially in the context of geospatial analysis. You are proficient in Python and have hands-on experience with deep learning libraries such as PyTorch. Your passion for geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing drives you to innovate and create impactful solutions.

You understand the intricacies of working with geospatial data and have a keen interest in developing AI models that can analyze and interpret imagery and location data. You are comfortable curating and processing data for deep learning applications, transforming raw data into valuable geospatial insights. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including geospatial analysts and other data scientists.

Desirable

Experience with ArcGIS and familiarity with its integration into AI workflows would be a significant advantage. Knowledge of additional deep learning frameworks or tools is a plus, as is any experience in developing APIs for data science applications. You are eager to stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and geospatial technologies, continuously seeking to enhance your skills and knowledge.

What you'll do

In this role, you will develop tools and APIs that empower geospatial analysts to leverage AI and deep learning techniques effectively. You will be responsible for creating foundation models tailored for various modalities of GIS data, including satellite imagery. Your work will involve integrating ArcGIS with popular deep learning libraries, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.

You will curate and preprocess data for deep learning models, transforming it into actionable geospatial information. Conducting comparative studies of different deep learning models will be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to identify the most effective approaches for specific tasks. You will also author and maintain geospatial data science samples, contributing to the knowledge base and resources available for your team and the broader community.

Your role will require you to develop AI agents and assistants that can perform various GIS tasks, enhancing the capabilities of geospatial analysts. You will collaborate closely with other team members to ensure that the tools and models you develop meet the needs of users and align with the latest research in spatial data science.

What we offer

At Esri, you will be part of a leading organization in the GIS field, working on innovative projects that have a real-world impact.
