Senior Software Engineer, Product (Backend-Focused)

Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, owning and delivering product features that enhance user engagement and support customer outreach. You are comfortable designing backend services and APIs, and you think backend-first, focusing on data models, execution paths, and system behavior. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with senior and staff engineers to maintain high standards for reliability and clarity in your work. You enjoy iterating quickly based on feedback and are motivated by the impact of your contributions in a small team setting. Your experience includes working on AI-enabled or data-driven product features, and you have exposure to healthcare or compliance-heavy environments.

Desirable

Experience with AWS and production cloud deployments is a plus, as is familiarity with improving or extending existing products rather than only building greenfield solutions. You are adaptable and can move between backend and frontend tasks to ensure successful feature delivery.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for building real product functionality end-to-end, from designing backend services to integrating them into the product UI. You will ship features that customers actively use, ensuring that they meet high standards of quality and performance. You will collaborate with product and engineering peers to contribute to roadmap-critical work, focusing on workflows that enhance customer engagement. Your hands-on approach will involve improving systems already running in production, integrating AI-driven decisioning into product surfaces, and iterating on features based on user feedback. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team, ensuring that best practices are followed and that the product evolves to meet user needs.
