Job Description

The Joining Amazon Technology team is building cutting edge solutions to revolutionize the way we onboard 2.8 million Amazon new workers a year in over 60 countries. We do not depend on third party monolithic HR systems. Our software products use Amazon Web Services to intelligently work through the complexity of country and role differences, and ensure new hires start successfully on Day 1 with delightful onboarding experiences. We enable all Amazon business' success to onboard new workers to meet dynamic business and market demands, and country and region holiday and prime day retail lifecycle spikes. Our mission is clear: We seek to be the most technically proficient HR organization in the world.

The Prestart Domain team is the core of the end to end Joining Amazon experience, responsible to handle 100% global hiring traffic from various recruiting sources. All subsequent onboarding and HR processes depend on the HR profiles and related data Prestart systems ingest into the HR system. It is core to the success of the Joining Amazon journey as well as employee journey.

Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Technical Program Manager on the PreStart team, you will manage the Joining Amazon AI programs and 3rd party software migration programs, which span over 10 dependency teams. You will work with contingency teams to collect the necessary data for AI models, work with joining teams to produce and consume the results, and work with platform teams (e.g. MyHR and AtoZ) to serve the results to customers. You will need to make tradeoff decisions with the cross-functional teams to balance short-term and long-term needs, and escalate issues effectively to find paths forward when teams are blocked. You will be responsible for negotiating resources and priorities with engineering teams, product teams and service teams to unblock development and increase delivery speed. Moreover, you will identify simplification and improvement opportunities across the Joining teams to build a better customer experience, rather than just lifting and shifting the legacy functionality.- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
