Overview

Docker is seeking a Manager of Business Development to lead their North America team focused on outbound prospecting. You'll be responsible for managing team performance and collaborating with Sales and Marketing to drive pipeline activity.

You have a proven track record in business development, with at least 5 years of experience leading teams in a sales environment. You understand the nuances of outbound prospecting and have successfully driven pipeline growth in previous roles. Your leadership style is collaborative, and you excel at mentoring and developing talent within your team. You are metrics-driven, always looking to refine processes and improve team performance. You have strong communication skills, allowing you to effectively engage with management, customers, and support staff. You are adaptable and thrive in a remote-first culture, embracing the challenges and opportunities that come with it.

Desirable

Experience in the tech industry, particularly with software or developer tools, is a plus. Familiarity with sales enablement tools and CRM systems will help you hit the ground running. A background in competitive analysis and market research will enhance your ability to guide your team effectively.

What you'll do

As the Manager of Business Development at Docker, you will lead the North America Business Development team, focusing on outbound prospecting efforts. You will carry a team quota and be responsible for regularly meeting and exceeding sales goals. Your role will involve monitoring and refining sales lead processes and metrics to ensure optimal performance. You will manage territory assignments and foster strong relationships between Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and Account Executives (AEs). Hiring, recruiting, mentoring, and developing top Enterprise and Strategic SDRs will be key responsibilities, as you aim to build a high-performing team.

You will develop and own the sales funnel, continuously optimizing every step to increase overall productivity. Collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations, you will refine a repeatable prospecting model for both inbound and outbound efforts. Keeping up to date with competition will be essential, as you will provide competitive analysis to inform your team's strategy. You will also participate in team-building and company growth activities, contributing to strategy setting and fostering a positive team culture.
