Overview

SpaceX is hiring a SCADA Specialist - Automation & Controls to support the development and construction of tooling for Starship. You'll be responsible for installing and commissioning automation assets and improving production systems. This role requires expertise in PLCs and data acquisition systems.

Who you are

You have a strong background in automation and controls, with hands-on experience in commissioning and integrating physical hardware such as PLCs, data acquisition systems, and sensors. You understand the importance of reliability in production systems and are committed to implementing long-term improvements. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to interpret data collected from these systems, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with engineering teams to develop innovative solutions for complex challenges. Your experience includes owning and executing projects from start to finish, demonstrating your ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for advancing technology that supports space exploration.

Desirable

Experience with SCADA systems and familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes would be a plus. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, contributing to the mission of enabling human life on other planets.

What you'll do

In this role, you will take ownership of the installation and commissioning of new automation assets, ensuring they meet the high standards required for space technology. You will be involved in panel builds and drawing updates, playing a crucial role in the development of tooling for the Starship and Super Heavy Booster. Your responsibilities will include operational support, where you will review and interpret data to enhance system performance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate various systems, including wire harnesses and custom enclosures, into the production environment. Your work will directly impact the reliability and safety of operations, enabling safe and economical access to space. You will also be responsible for identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance the overall efficiency of production systems.
