Sous Chef

Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 3 years of experience as a sous chef or in culinary management. Your background includes a degree in culinary arts, which is preferred, and you possess high volume production and catering experience. You have a proven ability to create innovative menus on a daily basis and can perform well under pressure. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is a creative spirit that allows you to make the culinary experience part of the SpaceX culture.

What you'll do

In this role, you will manage cost controls and expenditures, creating pricing schedules for all meals. You will source high-quality ingredients with a focus on local, sustainable, and organic items, planning and creating all menus with an emphasis on seasonal items and creative choices. You will also purchase and manage inventory, enforce food quality, and hold staff meetings to address food safety, quality issues, and innovations. Ensuring the safety of the physical kitchen and café space will be part of your responsibilities, as well as catering company events as needed. Your goal is to create a pleasant and fun environment for SpaceX employees to meet and share a meal, building a structure to deliver in-house catering and support company and special events.
