You have a strong background in software engineering, particularly in building and maintaining data collection and processing systems. Your experience includes working with APIs and data ingestion pipelines, ensuring efficient data flow from various sources. You are comfortable with both onboard and offboard components that facilitate data collection and ingestion, and you have a keen interest in autonomous driving technology.

You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can navigate complex technical challenges. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and engineers, allows you to contribute effectively to the development of innovative solutions. You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of data formats and storage solutions, which enables you to optimize data handling processes.

Desirable

Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud services and data management tools. What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for onboarding logging collection infrastructure, which includes defining data formats, APIs, and libraries. You will work on the data ingestion pipeline, developing uploader modules that operate over various connection types, including LTE, WiFi, and wired connections. Your focus will be on creating temporary storage solutions and offboard components that facilitate efficient data collection and ingestion.

You will strategize on how to maximize the value of the limited data collected, balancing multiple requirements and constraints. This involves working closely with the Tech Lead Manager and other team members to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of the Waymo Logs team. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall architecture of the data systems.
