Job Description

Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon LEO will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

As a Power Electronics Engineer specializing in EMI/EMC, you will play a pivotal role in our engineering team focused on pioneering new product development. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the design and optimization of DC/DC and AC/DC power electronics systems with particular emphasis on EMI filter design and implementation, specifically tailored to power our advanced phased array antenna customer terminals. This role will function as a lead role that drives the current and next generation power architecture and EMI compliance for the Leo Customer Terminal products

Key job responsibilities
• Design and optimize power conversion systems (DC/DC, AC/DC) including EMI filter implementation
• Lead EMI/EMC filter design, simulation, and testing across multiple power conversion stages
• Design various power topologies (buck, boost, IBC, STC, flyback, half/full bridge) with integrated EMI solutions
• Perform system-level simulations using industry tools (SPICE, Sigrity, CST) for power integrity and EMI compliance
• Drive root cause analysis for power noise and EMI-related system effects
• Develop EMI-aware PCB layouts and review designs for power integrity and EMC
• Generate comprehensive test plans covering both power performance and EMI verification
• Conduct board bring-up and testing campaigns, providing effective solutions for power and EMI issues

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in power electronics design and EMI filter implementation
- Proven track record in hardware development from concept to production
- Experience in EMI-aware PCB layout design and schematic capture- Master's degree or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of experience in power electronics with EMI filter design expertise
- Experience with 3D EM simulation tools and power integrity analysis
- Experience leading complex power electronics projects with strict EMI requirements
- Published work or patents in power electronics or EMI/EMC design

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
