Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building production systems at scale. You’ve owned services from design through deployment and have navigated complex distributed systems issues with ease. Your deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot allows you to ship high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests, and you have strong opinions on service architecture, dependency injection, and testing strategies. You are comfortable with PostgreSQL and have experience with automated code refactoring and integration testing frameworks. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing knowledge, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Desirable

Experience with tools for automated code refactoring and fleet-wide upgrade campaigns is a plus. Familiarity with Java Build/PR linting and E2E integration testing frameworks will help you excel in this role. What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Framework Lifecycle Management team, you will be the architect of the "Zero Toil" initiative, ensuring that Netflix developers can leverage secure, performant, and stable technologies without worrying about upgrades or integration quirks. You will engineer the "Zero-Disruption" Pipeline by designing and scaling E2E integration and regression testing frameworks that allow platform changes to ship with zero impact on user space. Your role will involve building sophisticated tooling for automated code refactoring, Java Build/PR linting, and fleet-wide upgrade campaigns, such as Spring Boot and JDK version migrations. You will take ownership of the preferred technology stack, ensuring deep integration and seamless upgrade paths. Your contributions will directly impact how software is delivered at Netflix scale, and you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive these initiatives forward.
