Job Description

SkyOS, our industry-first universal operating system for flight, provides any airplane or helicopter with a fly-by-wire flight management solution that significantly reduces the complexity of flying. Skyryse One, our first production aircraft powered by SkyOS, was unveiled in 2024 and features the simplest, safest, and most intuitive flight controls in general aviation.

SENSOR INTEGRATION ENGINEER - EL SEGUNDO, CA
As a Sensor Integration Engineer in our Advanced Technology Group (ATG) —the R&D arm leading the charge in aviation innovation—you’ll take a hands-on role in developing, testing, installing, and integrating a broad range of advanced sensors for next-generation programs.
This is a full-time onsite opportunity based out of El Segundo, CA. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the development of test campaigns using rapid prototyping equipment such as dSpace, Speedgoat, LabView, or similar
  • Work within MATLAB / SIMULINK to model various sensors including IMUs, Altimeters, and more
  • Support integration procedures as defined by a vendor or stakeholder
  • Troubleshoot common communication protocols including RS-232, CAN, UDP, etc. 
  • Troubleshoot common hardware integration issues
  • Attend internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates
  • Assist with electrical design and/or software implementation for sensor-related technology development/integration
  • Create release drawings and schematics for installed component

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,  or other related  disciplines.
  • 2+ years of professional working experience
  • Familiarity with dSpace, SpeedGoat, LabView Equipment or equivalent
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and SIMULINK or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related disciplines
  • Product Launch/ Full Lifecycle experience
  • Prior start up working experience
  • 5+ years of professional working experience
  • Familiarity with DO-178C, DO-254, DO-331, and other FAA compliance requirement

The posted salary range reflects the potential base pay for this role, adjusted to account for varying geographic markets. Final compensation will be based on factors such as your location, job-related skills, experience, and internal alignment, including equity and benefits.
