SpaceX is hiring a Development Test Engineer to join their fast-paced R&D team focused on testing new products and systems. You'll design and implement test equipment while ensuring high reliability in spacecraft and launch vehicles. A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and experience in mechanical structures are required.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and have at least 1 year of experience in designing and analyzing mechanical structures. You have been involved in extracurricular projects or academic research that required you to design and build mechanical systems. Your attention to detail is exceptional, as you understand that tests have very little margin for error. You are comfortable supervising the integration of test stands, including fabrication and mechanical assembly, and you have experience with data and control systems. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that push the boundaries of technology.
As a Development Test Engineer at SpaceX, you will join the Development Test group, where you will be responsible for creating test stand concepts and fabrication drawings. You will design and analyze structures, fluid systems, and mechanisms, ensuring that all components meet the rigorous standards required for space exploration. You will supervise the integration of test stands, overseeing the mechanical assembly and ensuring that data and control systems are correctly implemented. Your role will involve operating test stands with precision, as the tests you conduct are critical to the success of SpaceX's upcoming products, ground systems, spacecraft, and launch vehicles. You will collaborate closely with other engineers and teams to reduce hardware development time and increase reliability through thorough testing.
