Job Description

Are you a data engineer eager to make a meaningful impact while developing your technical skills? Join the Seller Fees Tech organization at Amazon and contribute to critical systems that enable millions of entrepreneurs worldwide to build successful businesses on our platform.

As a DE 1 on our Expansions team, you will support the data infrastructure needs of seller fee systems that power Amazon's marketplace operations across the globe. In this role, you will help scale our existing data infrastructure, incorporate new marketplace data sources, and build data pipelines for production-level fee processing systems that serve sellers worldwide.

Working alongside SDEs, product and business teams, you will solve business questions about global expansion and marketplace operations through data-driven solutions. You'll gain hands-on experience with large-scale distributed data systems, high-volume transaction data, and the challenges of building data platforms that support Amazon's expansion into new markets.

Above all, you should be passionate about working with data to answer business questions and drive growth.

Key job responsibilities
Develop and support ETL pipelines with robust monitoring and alarming

Develop data models that are optimized for business understand-ability and usability

Develop and optimize data tables using best practices for partitioning, compression, parallelization, etc.

Develop and maintain metadata, data catalog, and documentation for internal business customers

Help internal business customers troubleshoot and optimize SQL and ETL solutions to solve reporting problems

Work with internal business customers and partner technical teams to gather and document requirements for data publishing and consumption- 1+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
- Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
- Experience with any ETL tool like, Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.
