SpaceX is hiring a Solar Cell Process Engineer for the Starlink project to develop high-efficiency solar cells for satellite and space missions. You'll work with advanced production processes including chemical etching and PVD. This role requires experience in setting up production lines and process development.
You have a background in engineering with a focus on solar cell production processes — your experience includes setting up production lines and developing high-quality manufacturing techniques. You are familiar with advanced processes such as chemical etching, PE-CVD, and PVD, and understand the intricacies of equipment procurement and commissioning. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to lead a world-class production team.
You possess strong problem-solving skills and can navigate the complexities of production plant design and layout — your attention to detail ensures that every aspect of the production process meets high standards of efficiency and quality. You are passionate about renewable energy and its applications in space technology, particularly in supporting missions to the Moon and Mars.
Experience with wafer inspection tools and gas and chemical distribution systems would be a plus — you understand the importance of maintaining high standards in production environments. Familiarity with ultrapure and wastewater treatment equipment is also beneficial, as it aligns with the sustainability goals of the Starlink project.
As a Solar Cell Process Engineer at SpaceX, you will lead the development of production processes for solar cells used in Starlink satellites — your role will involve overseeing the entire lifecycle of setting up a greenfield solar cell production plant.
