About the Opportunity

At Bitvavo we are seeking for an experienced Head of Finance to lead our financial operations and strategy. This role will be critical in driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, and supporting our long-term business goals. As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of Finance will oversee budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial planning, while also offering strategic insights to guide the company’s future.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Drive the company’s financial strategy, planning, and forecasting to support growth and scalability.
• Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the strategic plan.
• Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analysing causes of unexpected variances.
• Manage cash flow planning, investment strategies, and capital allocation.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, providing financial insight and strategic recommendations.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering growth and development.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP, SOX, etc.).
• Evaluate and manage financial risks, including currency exposure, funding, and credit.

What We Look For

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in finance leadership roles, ideally in high-growth or regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of corporate financial law, taxation, and risk management practices.
• Strong analytical, strategic, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in financial management software and Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Proven track record in strategic financial planning and business partnering.

• Prior experience scaling finance functions in startup-to-scaleup environments.
