Who you are

You have over 5 years of experience leading a team in CG lighting, demonstrating your ability to manage complex shot work while ensuring high-quality output. Your expertise in translating practical lighting into CG assets is complemented by your collaborative spirit, allowing you to work effectively with CG Supervisors and other leads. You are skilled in fostering communication between various teams, including animation, FX, and compositing, ensuring seamless integration of lighting across projects.

Your technical knowledge enables you to assist CG Lighters in troubleshooting issues, working closely with department TDs and the Digital Pipeline team to refine lighting toolsets. You understand the importance of meeting deadlines and quotas, and you are adept at bidding lighting tasks with VFX production management. Your leadership style encourages productivity and creativity within your team, driving them to overcome challenges and achieve project goals.

Desirable

Experience with various CG lighting software and tools is a plus, as is a strong portfolio showcasing your work in CG lighting. Familiarity with the latest trends in CG and VFX will help you stay ahead in this fast-evolving industry.

What you'll do

As the Lead CG Lighter, you will oversee the CG Lighting team, ensuring that all lighting tasks are completed to the highest standard. You will establish sequence lighting looks by translating approved practical lighting into CG assets, collaborating closely with CG Supervisors and leads to ensure a seamless integration of stage and VFX lighting. Your role will involve providing comprehensive launch materials for the CG Lighting team and assisting them in resolving creative challenges that arise during production.

You will work with asset artists and look development teams to confirm the accurate translation of CG assets during shot integration. Your ability to foster effective communication between CG assets, animation, FX, lighting, and compositing teams will be crucial in overseeing handoffs to and from the lighting team. You will assist CG Lighters in troubleshooting technical problems, collaborating with department TDs and the Digital Pipeline team to advise on the creation and implementation of lighting toolsets.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will bid lighting tasks with VFX production management and advise on lighting assignments, ensuring that all deadlines and quotas are met. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining the highest level of quality while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
