OpenAI is seeking a Product Manager for their Product Policy team focused on national security. You'll develop and implement policies for responsible AI use, collaborating with various teams. This role requires expertise in AI capabilities and risk governance.
You have a strong background in policy development, particularly in the context of technology and national security. Your experience includes working with AI technologies and understanding their implications for governance and risk management. You are skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including technical, legal, and operational stakeholders, to ensure that policies are effectively communicated and enforced. You possess a keen understanding of the balance between innovation and responsible use of technology, and you are committed to developing frameworks that support both. You thrive in environments that require strategic thinking and execution, and you are comfortable operating with autonomy while aligning with broader organizational goals. In this role, you will contribute to the development and refinement of OpenAI’s national security usage policies, ensuring they are aligned with the organization's mission to promote responsible AI use. You will support operational decision-making on sensitive use cases, working closely with various teams to assess risks and implement appropriate governance measures. Your responsibilities will include conducting research on emerging AI capabilities and their implications for national security, as well as engaging with external stakeholders to gather insights and feedback on policy approaches. You will play a key role in communicating policies to internal teams and ensuring that they are understood and adhered to across the organization. Additionally, you will monitor the effectiveness of existing policies and recommend adjustments as necessary to adapt to evolving technologies and regulatory requirements. You will also participate in strategic discussions about the future of AI in national security contexts, helping to shape the direction of OpenAI’s engagement in this critical area.
