Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable, resilient, and cloud-native infrastructure services for Azure. You'll work on high-impact distributed systems challenges and contribute to new product initiatives. This role requires experience in building cloud-scale systems.
You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in building cloud-scale systems from the ground up. You are skilled in designing and delivering scalable and resilient infrastructure services that support high-demand applications. Your background includes working with distributed systems and you are familiar with the challenges that come with hyperscale environments. You thrive in collaborative settings and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to shape the future of cloud infrastructure. You are motivated by the opportunity to influence the direction of Azure’s compute platform and solve complex engineering challenges. You have a growth mindset and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Experience with Azure services and infrastructure is a plus. Familiarity with AI and cloud-native applications will help you excel in this role. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Azure Virtual Machine Scale Sets (VMSS) team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering infrastructure services that support millions of cores and serve Fortune 500 customers. You will work closely with stakeholders to determine user requirements for new features and support the identification of dependencies. Your role will involve tackling high-impact distributed systems challenges and contributing to new product initiatives from the ground up. You will collaborate with some of the brightest minds in cloud infrastructure, influencing the direction of Azure’s compute platform. You will also engage in code reviews, technical documentation, and production monitoring to ensure the reliability and performance of the services you build.
