Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operation Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure in Avondale, Arizona. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.

Who you are

You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment and are eager to learn about data center operations. Your attention to detail ensures that you maintain high standards of uptime and reliability in mission-critical environments. You thrive in collaborative settings, working alongside diverse teams of engineers and specialists to solve challenging problems. Desirable

Experience with diesel generators and three-phase electrical systems is a plus. Familiarity with cooling systems and data center operations will help you excel in this role. A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving will set you apart as a candidate.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operation Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. You will be responsible for operating and troubleshooting critical electrical and mechanical equipment, including stand-by diesel generators, UPSs, PDUs, and cooling systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to achieving our goal of 99.999% uptime, ensuring that our customers have continual access to the cloud services they rely on. You will collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers to address operational challenges and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and reliability.

You will conduct regular inspections and maintenance on equipment, documenting your findings and actions to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Your role will involve responding to alarms and incidents, diagnosing issues, and executing repairs to minimize downtime. You will also participate in projects aimed at improving data center operations, contributing your insights and technical knowledge to enhance our infrastructure.
