  • Experience with mixed methods research, including both qualitative and quantitative approaches.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of teams.

TechIntel is a team within Core Developer focused on better understanding product development at Google. Recognizing that great products are built cross-functionally, we study the tools, workflows, culture, processes, and perceptions primarily for User Experience (UX), Product Manager (PM), Technical Program Manager (TPgM), and Production Operations (ProdOps) Googlers. By combining this knowledge with insights from our sister team, DevIntel, we surface holistic opportunities.

In this role, you will work across Google’s product portfolio to build central solutions, strengthen existing systems, and advocate for processes that guide user-first product development. You will collaborate closely with executive leadership and have opportunities to conduct true mixed-methods research.

User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people love. We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. We work on collaborative teams to solve complex challenges and craft experiences that highlight our products’ unique capabilities and personalities. Our work touches billions while exemplifying a key principle that is core to Google’s philosophy: “Focus on the user and all else will follow.”

  • Conceive, design, and execute research projects using various quantitative methods, culminating in clear, data-driven recommendations.
  • Manage comprehensive survey research, including instrument creation, field execution, data analysis, and detailed reporting.
  • Navigate emerging problem spaces by applying creative, proactive, and futuristic thinking to identify new products and research opportunities.
  • Identify key insights, clearly communicate recommendations to relevant audiences, and act as an ongoing advocate for findings across teams.
  • Build deep relationships with leaders and partners to approach questions holistically and drive long-term, scalable culture shifts within the company.
