Overview

SpaceX is hiring an IC Packaging Automation Engineer to develop and manage automation projects for semiconductor packaging. You'll work closely with process design engineers and equipment manufacturers to enhance production efficiency.

You have a strong background in automation engineering, particularly in the semiconductor industry, with hands-on experience in developing and managing automation projects. Your expertise in semiconductor packaging and testing allows you to effectively collaborate with process design engineers and equipment manufacturers to create innovative solutions. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about contributing to the advancement of technology that supports SpaceX's mission to enable human life on Mars.

You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can think critically about complex automation challenges. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams ensures that projects are completed on time and meet the highest standards of quality. You are detail-oriented and have a strong commitment to continuous improvement, always looking for ways to enhance processes and increase efficiency.

Desirable

Experience with factory automation systems and a solid understanding of integrated circuit packaging processes would be a significant advantage. Familiarity with programming languages and automation tools is also beneficial, as it will help you in designing and implementing effective automation solutions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will take ownership of packaging automation projects, from initial ideation through to implementation and commissioning. You will design and develop automation solutions that streamline the semiconductor packaging process, ensuring that production is efficient and cost-effective. Collaborating closely with process design engineers, you will identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes that enhance the overall production workflow.

You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that each one is progressing according to schedule and budget.
