Overview

Amazon is hiring a Senior Support Engineer IV for the Core Shopping team to provide production engineering support and troubleshoot various services. You'll work with AWS and Linux to enhance the shopping experience for Alexa customers.

Who you are

You have 4+ years of software development experience, demonstrating a strong ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues across multiple products and services. Your problem-solving skills are complemented by a passion for operational excellence, allowing you to prioritize tasks effectively and maintain a detail-oriented approach in your work. You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to coordinate effectively with various teams and stakeholders. Your experience includes providing support for incoming tickets and developing tools to aid operations and maintenance, showcasing your technical proficiency and commitment to improving processes.

Desirable

Experience with software deployment in staging and production environments is a plus, as is familiarity with system and support status reporting. You thrive in collaborative environments where you can take ownership of customer experience components and contribute to building a comprehensive knowledge base for your team. Your ability to ramp up quickly on disparate tasks will be key to your success in this role, as will your willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced setting.

What you'll do

In this role, you will join the Alexa Shopping team, where you will be responsible for providing support for incoming tickets, which includes extensive troubleshooting tasks across various products and features. You will assist with software deployment in both staging and production environments, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will also include developing tools to aid operations and maintenance, which will enhance the overall efficiency of the support engineering team. You will take ownership of one or more purchase experience components, coordinating customer notifications and workflows to maintain service level agreements.

You will work closely with multiple teams to handle active support issues, ensuring a seamless transition of responsibilities and creating a team-specific knowledge base. Your role will require you to report on system and support statuses, providing insights that will help improve service delivery. You will be expected to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to operational excellence, prioritizing tasks effectively and following through with detail orientation. Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively will be essential as you collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for customers.
