Who you are

You have a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and you bring over 5 years of production-focused C++ software development experience. Your expertise in designing and developing robust, real-time software is complemented by your ability to guide junior team members on code quality and efficiency. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with mapping teams and algorithm experts to establish effective APIs and ensure seamless integration of localization and mapping functionalities.

Your technical leadership skills shine as you conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence within the team. You understand the critical nature of safety and functionality in autonomous driving systems, and you are committed to delivering high-performance solutions that meet these demands. You are detail-oriented, with a strong focus on optimizing systems for real-time performance, and you have a passion for pushing the boundaries of technology in the autonomous vehicle space.

Desirable

Experience in the autonomous driving industry or related fields is a plus, as is familiarity with collision detection systems. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to take on challenges that require innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.

What you'll do

In this role, you will drive the end-to-end design, implementation, and testing of high-performance C++ software for both onboard and offboard localization and mapping pipelines. Your contributions will be central to the safety and functionality of our autonomous driving stack, ensuring that systems are optimized for real-time performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including algorithm experts in perception, motion planning, and controls, to develop solutions that enhance the overall performance of our autonomous vehicle systems.

You will be responsible for establishing the API for localization-mapping interaction, working closely with the mapping team to ensure seamless integration. Your role will also involve conducting thorough code reviews, guiding junior team members on best practices, and providing technical leadership across the organization. You will contribute to the design, validation, and productionalization of our Collision Detection System, ensuring that all components work together effectively to enhance the safety and reliability of our autonomous driving technology.
