Affirm is seeking an Analyst I for their Merchant Risk team to support risk management through data analysis and modeling. You'll work with SQL and automation tools to enhance merchant onboarding and monitoring processes. This entry-level position is fully remote in Canada.

With a strong analytical foundation, you are ready to tackle challenging problems and contribute to the Merchant Risk Analytics team at Affirm. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working cross-functionally with teams such as Merchant Underwriting, Compliance, and Engineering to establish scalable risk management processes. Your willingness to operate across the full merchant risk lifecycle—from onboarding to ongoing monitoring—sets you apart as a candidate.
You possess a foundational understanding of data analysis and modeling, and you are excited about the opportunity to support the development and maintenance of scalable analytics frameworks. Your hands-on execution skills will be essential as you engage in core analyses and model-driven workflows. You are comfortable leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate your analysis and automate workflows, demonstrating your adaptability in a fast-evolving environment.
While not required, experience with fraud detection and risk management processes would be a plus. Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks can enhance your contributions to the team. A proactive approach to identifying gaps and opportunities within existing risk processes will help you excel in this role.
In this role, you will support merchant onboarding and ongoing portfolio monitoring through comprehensive data analysis. Your responsibilities will include detecting and monitoring fraud across the network, responding quickly to emerging risks, and contributing to the development of scalable monitoring frameworks and controls. You will assist in reporting and identifying gaps within existing risk processes, ensuring that Affirm maintains a robust risk management strategy.
You will partner cross-functionally to translate risk requirements into data-driven strategies, collaborating closely with various teams to enhance the overall risk management framework. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you work on model-driven workflows, contributing to the continuous improvement of risk processes.
