Amazon is hiring a Tax Modeling Manager to shape its tax strategy by building and maintaining sophisticated tax models. You'll work with various technology applications and collaborate across tax groups. This position requires expertise in tax modeling and strong analytical skills.
You have a strong background in tax modeling and strategic tax planning, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Your expertise in Excel allows you to construct and maintain complex tax models that provide clear summaries of results to leadership. You are skilled at collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Tax Reporting, to investigate the tax implications of corporate projects at various levels.
You possess a comprehensive understanding of operational, data, and information needs for tax planning, and you are familiar with technology applications that support tax initiatives. Your ability to analyze tax data and calculations is complemented by your strong communication skills, enabling you to foster robust relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
Experience with Amazon's proprietary tax technology tools is a plus, as is familiarity with international tax planning initiatives. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for problem-solving, which helps you navigate complex tax scenarios effectively.
As a Tax Modeling Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Amazon's tax strategy by building and maintaining sophisticated tax models. Your work will directly influence decision-making across corporate restructurings, tax policy changes, acquisitions, and international tax planning initiatives. You will collaborate with various tax groups, including M&A, Tax Planning, Tax Policy, Reporting and Compliance, and Tax Provision, to ensure that all tax implications are thoroughly investigated.
Your responsibilities will include conducting in-depth tax research and developing new models while updating existing ones with fresh data. You will provide clear summaries of your findings to Tax and Finance leadership, ensuring that they have the necessary information to make informed decisions. You will also engage with cross-functional teams to understand their operational needs and how they relate to tax planning.
