Job Description

Key job responsibilities
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to architect and execute on embedded software designs from concept to production, including prototyping, validation, testing, and certification.
- Write and develop functional specifications, design verification and debug plans, and test procedures.
- Develop embedded software (C++) in a real-time operating system environment for robotic conveyance systems.
- Manage multiple projects in parallel.
- Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments.
- Travel to development sites to troubleshoot issues.- Experience in embedded development in C/C++, or experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- 10 + years of experience in software, firmware, and electrical system level design
- Expert in full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Understanding of common embedded protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN) and how to implement them
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program- MS degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field
- Experience with UI design for complex workflows and for end users
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
- Experience with DC brushless motor control theory and implementation
- Experience bringing up and troubleshooting custom PCBAs (from prototype to production)
- Experience architecting and implementing OTA (Over The Air) firmware update solution
- Experience with STM32 microcontroller family
- Demonstrated ability to develop deep understanding of the business and end-user needs quickly, and can proficiently translate those needs into the right technology solution

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
