Job Description
The Propulsion team at Hermeus is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Power Electronics Electrical Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for cradle to grave ownership of the electrical power architecture and components for all new vehicle development at Hermeus in addition to mentoring junior engineers and establishing standards and tools that level up the whole team.
This role will be embedded in the propulsion team where you will be working with a cross functional team of electrical and mechanical engineers to architect the power system to provide electrical, fluid and mechanical power to critical vehicle components for supersonic and hypersonic aircraft, with the ultimate goal of enabling hypersonic commercial transport. The ideal candidate will be able to act as the bridge between mechanical and electrical disciplines.
In this role you will be responsible for the design of flight hardware in addition to all necessary ground and test equipment. In addition to working on custom designs you will also be responsible for working with vendors to identify commercial off the shelf and custom solutions. Finally, you will be hands on hardware and support the build and test of multiple prototype vehicles as we continually push Hermeus’ capabilities forward.
