Senior Software Engineer, ML Infrastructure

Who you are

You have 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with a strong foundation in building scalable systems. Your educational background includes a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, providing you with the theoretical knowledge to complement your practical skills. You possess hands-on experience developing and deploying applications on Kubernetes (k8s), which is essential for this role. Your expertise extends to building or working on high-scale infrastructure or distributed backend systems, showcasing your ability to handle complex engineering challenges.

You are proficient in programming languages such as Python and Go, or similar languages, allowing you to write high-quality, maintainable code. Your solid experience with major cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure equips you with the necessary tools to develop robust and scalable services that support the entire machine learning lifecycle. You have a strong sense of ownership and a passion for building high-quality software, which drives you to deliver impactful solutions.

Desirable

Experience with machine learning frameworks or libraries would be a plus, as it aligns with the team's focus on developing the next generation of self-driving technology. Familiarity with data processing and model training techniques will enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design, build, and deploy core components of our ML infrastructure platform on Kubernetes. Your responsibilities will include developing robust and scalable services that support the entire ML lifecycle, from data ingestion and processing to model training and evaluation. You will write high-quality, maintainable code for high-throughput systems that handle petabytes of data, ensuring that the infrastructure is capable of supporting the demands of advanced machine learning applications.

You will own features and systems end-to-end, driving them from initial design through to production deployment and operation. This involves collaborating closely with machine learning engineers to understand their needs and translating them into technical solutions. You will also be responsible for monitoring system performance and making improvements as necessary to ensure optimal operation.
