Confluent is hiring a Senior Software Engineer II to contribute to the Stream Governance product. You'll work with Java and cloud-native technologies to deliver critical services for data streaming. This role requires strong technical leadership and collaboration skills.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on building scalable and reliable systems. Your expertise in Java allows you to develop high-performance applications that meet user needs effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, valuing diverse perspectives and fostering a culture of open communication. You have experience with cloud-native architectures and understand the complexities of multi-tenant services, which enables you to design solutions that are both robust and flexible. Your technical leadership skills shine as you mentor junior engineers, guiding them through challenges and helping them grow in their careers. You are passionate about data governance and understand the importance of compliance in data management, ensuring that your solutions adhere to relevant regulations.
Experience with event streaming technologies, particularly Kafka, is a plus. Familiarity with microservices architecture will help you contribute effectively to the Stream Governance product. You are comfortable working in an agile environment and have a track record of delivering projects on time while maintaining high-quality standards.
As a Senior Software Engineer II at Confluent, you will play a pivotal role in the development of the Stream Governance product portfolio. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing cloud-native services that empower customers to manage their data effectively. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Your role will involve developing features for the Confluent Stream Catalog, Stream Lineage, and Data Portal, ensuring that these services are intuitive and user-friendly. You will also be responsible for conducting code reviews, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring best practices are followed throughout the development process. Additionally, you will participate in architectural discussions, helping to shape the future direction of the Stream Governance product.
